Years Go By

Well. It has been a while, no lies. A lot has been going on. Whilst I was ‘away’ I released a couple more tracks. Check out YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/retrolicrecords  There are some mind-blowing songs I can assure you. Currently, I have had a major setback. The microphone on the stupid laptop I’ve been coerced to use is BROKEN! And so I have not been able to post my new tracks. Um, basically they are either still in my head, on paper or on my phone. Raw. Not thee life I can tell you.

School has closed, which equals more time on the internet, which also equals more musical influences. My love for music has been fuelled by two French rappers: Soprano and a group named Sexion D’Assaut. Look them up! They are so…. wow. Magical maybe? They do what is called ‘rap francais’ and they are brilliant at it. I’m studying French at my current school and so it helps me be the genuis that I am 🙂

Just an hour ago, I signed up on Reverbnation: http://www.reverbnation.com/kazn and what I will now mention might shock you! My name is now Kazn, which is pronounced cousin, and what I’m working on is that my sort of ‘slogan’ or punchline (whatever) will be something like, I quote: ‘We are all Distant Relatives.” – Kazn. LOL, a bit corny but whatever, it works for now. Oh, and the name is actually my initials spelt backwards- creative or what? Well, my uncle said it was…

As If I Care

I’m still in school right, and on my Successful video I might have said something that offended some boys at school. First of all: did I say it was you?? Of course there was an implication, but honestly, it wasn’t directed to ALL of you. In my History class today, one of the guys ‘mentioned’ (he figures he is, I say nothing.) asks the teacher to go onto Youtube and check out ‘Successful’ and another guy laughs and asks if anyone had seen the comment (which he himself had put on.). Honestly, as if I care.

It was quite irritating, and I’m not quite sure what it is exactly I would have done of we had watched the clip. Right now, I think I would have sung along and just had a ball 🙂 I am me, I don’t need them to accept me. They probably haven’t figured that out yet and are still figuring out ways to intimidate me and try make me miserable but hey to no avail.

A member of the Kalabanga crew was with me and she made me feel so much better and hey: SCREW THEM ALL haha. I feel so great 🙂

I’m stubborn and I love it 🙂

Did I Hear Right?

Word on the street is that a new band is forming. And guess who’s in it? Yours truly of course if it all pans out!

Seeing as I’m only a beginner in guitar, I’m not going to be playing an instrument but for now I’m trying to perfect my rhymes and literary skills, I think their going along great. I have a few lines of a new song/slow rap I want to produce. For now it remains untitled but know that it will rock your socks and that pretty soon I’ll become the master if verse.

That’s not all, but I do want to make sure it’s beautiful and ends up like a masterpiece. Don’t have anything more to add, except when asked who’s better between Rick Ross and Lupe Fiasco… Always say Lupe, because we both know he’s the one. Soulmate material as some people would go on further to add 😉

Nyasha K here. Hopefully with this blog I can make my music more widespread and known.

I love singing, rapping and making music all in all. I really want to become an artist among other things and this way i feel closer to my target. I’m a born performer. Recently there was a show at my school and I performed Lupe Fiasco’s Sunshine (in the female version of course). I did get a standing ovation by the people, so I suppose it was good 🙂

My inspiration would have to be the people that made Conscious Rap and Old School Hip-Hop what it is today. Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Asheru, Hi-Tek, K’naan, Dilated Peoples, Common, Floetry, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, the Fugees, J-Dilla, Slum Village, Lupe Fiasco. I missing out so many people, but It’s so hard to remember that long list. Grandmaster Flash, Run DMC, Black Sheep, De La Soul, Boogie Down Productions, Public Enemy, Da Bush Babees and A Tribe Called Quest definitely put it down in my books.

Follow my moves (aha ha), guide me and let’s make magic!
